John Gowen
John Gowen               Director / audio engineer

John is the Director of VMS and has a passion for music with a  career that spans 35 years as a guitarist and vocalist in many styles if music from rock , pop and folk to light opera and musical theatre. As front man for the now legendary "Rubber Biscuit "7 piece soul band, his Joe Cocker renditions would bring the house down. Nowadays he is the guitar playing half of the duo "JaG Acoustic " .He is also a sound engineer with qualifications from S.A.E. (School of Audio Engineering) and runs the "state-of-the-art" recording facility at V.M.S. With his performing background, John specializes in providing the muso or band with a sound that suits them, not one purely designed from a sound engineering perspective.

Alan Bindig
Alan Bindig                         Guitar   and  Bass

Alan has 23 years of guitar playing experience, holds a Bachelor Of Music (Honours) in music composition, and has been active in the local music scene for many years, playing in various bands, touring and releasing music on an independent record label.  He also DJs on local community radio station Three-D Radio 93.7 fm and holds a Cert IV in Audio Engineering.Alan is an all-rounder who can play in all styles from country, folk and blues to flamenco, rock and heavy metal.  His teaching philosophy is student-focused and is all about finding out what motivates each individual student, and then giving them the tools to allow them to achieve their aims and goals.  

Chris
Chris                                     Drums

Armed with 16 'ish' years of music and several years of instrumental teaching experience, Chris is currently in his third year of a  B.Mus, Music performance Jazz specialty degree on Drum kit at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, University of Adelaide. He also completed his certificate IV in Jazz Performance in 2007. After completion of his current degree, he wishes to complete a Diploma of Education to further his qualifications.

Throughout the last few years, Chris has been a supportive musician. He's been called in for many live studio recordings, drum track recordings, private functions and weddings, whether it were dance music for a party, gospel music for a church celebration or dinner jazz music at a restaurant. The Classical background from the early stages of his performances, to the more recent explorations in jazz and rock, make Christopher an exceptional virtuoso.

Antonia
Laura                                         Vocals

 Laura started singing at a very young age and continued through high school . She completed a Diploma of Jazz Music in Voice and hopes to study for a Bachelor of Music next year."I really enjoy working with students and watching them develop. I also get a huge buzz out of live performance especially theatre"



Fergus
Fergus                                           Vocals

Fergus is a qualified school teacher who holds an Honours Degree in mathematics.He has had many years of vocal training including tuition from Robert Dawe at the Adelaide Conservatorium. His musical pursuits include chorister with The Corinthian Singers and singer /guitarist for many bands and comedy acts as well as several Adelaide Fringe appearances. 

Megan
Megan                                            Vocals

  Megan singing experience is wide and varied from solo artist to choirs large and small as well as many roles in musical theatre. She is currently singing in a contemporary original band. Her training has involved 6 years of classical vocal tuition as well as undergoing extensive training from Voice and Music Studio's previous head vocal teacher Mel and is now our longest serving teacher. Currently furthering her knowledge at university , Megan's philosophy is to bring out the best by encouragement and focussed technique along with making lessons enjoyable.

Sophie
Sophie                                            Vocals

Sophie has been singing for 10 years and teaching for 2 years. She has a range of qualifications including a Certificate 4 in music and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is currently studying to gain a Diploma of Music.Her passion lies with theater having performed many musicals including Pinochio with Noarlunga Theater Company.Although mainly teaching contemporary music she is quite at home with jazz and classical. Her teaching philosophy is to not only get the best out of her students by giving the best she can but also to make learning fun. Sophie's goal is to perform on stage in New York
